What are the advantages of the Tempo Happy Tariff?

Tempo Happy allows you to choose the hours in which you won’t pay a thing for your electricity consumption. In other words, during your chosen Happy hours or day, all the electricity you use will cost €0.

And what about during other hours, is electricity more expensive?

During the remaining hours you will be paying a fixed price for the kWh, which is the same as Endesa's other tariffs on the Open market. This price may be lower or higher than your current contracted price.

Should I change to Happy? Will I save money?

Yes, it is worth your while. Happy is a tariff that adjusts to your requirements and your consumption patterns. Most of your electricity consumption is probably concentrated in specific hours of the day (when you are at home) therefore, if you choose those hours as your Happy hours, all your electricity consumption during those hours will cost €0.

For example, if 20% of your electricity consumption is carried out during your chosen Happy hours, this means you will not pay for this 20% electricity consumption. This does not mean that you will pay 20% less than your last bill, as the final cost will depend on what you were paying before.

These savings can represent around 100 to 150 euros per year, if you optimise your consumption during your Happy hours.

Most of our customers are saving more than 20% on their electricity bills.

And is it very difficult for the consumption percentage during Happy hours to be 20% or higher?

No, absolutely not. According to data from Red Eléctrica, average consumers use around 18% of the total energy consumption between 21:00 and 23:00, therefore it is normal to use around 20% during this period, in fact, customers that have already contracted the Tempo Happy Tariff and have smart meters installed already use around 20% of their electricity during Happy hours.

In any event, as everyone has different consumption patterns, each customer can choose their Happy hours or day to best suit their consumption patterns.

What are the recommended happy hours?

It depends on your consumption habits, but according to the Red Eléctrica Española, electricity consumption in Spain is at its highest between 21:00 and 23:00.

Can I change my Happy hours?

You can change the hours or day you have selected as many times as you like, but it will only be implemented once for each billing period. In other words, your last selection before you are billed will be applied.

But will I have to change my consumption pattern or habits?

No, the idea is that the Tempo Happy Tariff adjusts to your consumption pattern and not the other way round, which is why it is very simple and you do not have to do anything special to save money.

How will I know what my hourly consumption is?

With the new remotely managed smart meters, customers can access their hourly consumption distribution and find out how much they are consuming and identify the Happy hours that best suit them.

And thanks to these meters and other tools provided by Endesa, Endesa customers can keep track of their consumption and manage all their processes via the My Endesa private area on the website www.endesaclientes.com or via the app for their mobile or Tablet.

Each bill will also include a graph with the chosen option, to see if the selected hours are the most suitable or if another option would generate more savings.

What do I have to do to register with the Happy Tempo tariff?

Endesa will take care of it all, whether or not you are a new customer, we will activate your contract, without any unexpected interruptions.

If I am already an Endesa customers and I change my electricity tariff, will it affect my contracts for other products?

No, if you change to the Tempo Happy Tariff, any other contracts you have will not be affected. For example, if you have a discount associated with a gas contract, this will be maintained regardless of the change.

Who can sign up to the Happy tariff?

Your contracted power has to be up to 15 kW. The access tariff has to be 2.0DHA or 2.1DHA (also known as nocturnal access tariffs). Don’t worry if you don’t have a time-restriction tariff, we will carry out the necessary processes with the distribution company to change the access tariff or to normalise your contracted power.

Will I be charged for changing to DHA (nocturnal)?

The cost of any technical change is included in the connection charge, currently 9.04 + VAT or IGIC (local consumer tax in the Canary Islands) but by contracting this tariff we will refund this amount on your first or second bill.

And what if I don’t have a remotely managed meter?

No problem, you will be billed using the standard Red Eléctrica Española curve, which represents the average of all the supplies in the country. This is only temporary, until they activate your remotely managed meter and the load curve. 80% of the meters are now managed remotely and they all will be by 2018.

Does this tariff include a minimum term contract?

If you sign up to the tariff via the website or by phone, there is no minimum term.

When will I see the changes on my bill?

You will be able to benefit from the change in the next billing period.

If I have a remotely managed smart meter, will I still be billed every two months?

The Tempo Happy Tariff will always be applied to monthly bills; the bimonthly option is not available.

If my meter is analogical, is the hourly load curve applied until the meter is changed?

If your meter is not managed remotely, it does not matter whether it is digital or analogical, only the hourly load curve of Red Eléctrica Española shall be applied.

Can I choose any hours of the day I like?

No, they always have to be two consecutive hours.

I don’t have a remotely managed meter, what hours should I choose?

If you do not have a remotely managed meter, you should choose the hours or the day, taking into account the standard hourly load curve of Red Eléctrica Española. In this case, the hours to choose in winter would be 20:00 to 22:00 and in summer from 21:00 to 23:00.

I already have a nocturnal tariff, should I change to the Happy tariff?

If you already have a nocturnal or a time-restriction tariff and you know how to optimise it, it may not be in your interest to change to the Happy Tempo Tariff.

Do I have to pay to normalise the power?

In order to change to a time-restriction access tariff, you need to have a normalised power; this change costs around 6 or 8 euros.

If nearly all my consumption is during happy hours, will the power control switch (ICP) trip?

Yes, the ICP could trip as a result of a power overload. Therefore, in order to prevent this situation, we recommend not using too many electrical appliances at once and leaving small intervals between using one and another, particularly those that require most power: dishwasher, washing machine or oven.

Can I speed up the process of getting a remotely managed meter?

No, if you do not have a smart meter, you can ask to change to a time-restriction tariff and this will mean they will install a smart meter (with time restriction) and once your area is remotely managed, you will be able to enjoy this service.

Where can I view my consumption to see what hours/days are the most suitable for me?

You can check your consumption and carry out all your processes via the My Endesa private area or via our app for mobiles and Tablets. If you have an Hourly Load Curve, you can see your daily, weekly and monthly consumption and you can also find out the total accumulated consumption in the Happy hours/days, in order to optimise your savings.

Offer valid for customers with the 2.0 DHA access tariff.

If you currently have a different access tariff for your supply, Endesa can change this when your register with the service.
