What is a Maximeter?

It is a measurement instrument that registers the maximum demanded power for an energy supply during fifteen minute periods, to determine whether or not the contracted power has been exceeded.
 
The main advantage of this device is that supply is not interrupted if the contracted power is exceeded. This is fundamental for non-interruptible supplies.
 
The maximeter is installed in electrical supplies with capacities greater than 15 kW, those with a low voltage 3.0A access rate, and those with high voltage supplies. In some cases, supplies with capacities of less than 15 kW have this instrument instead of having a Power Control Switch, as occurs in the vast majority of household supplies.
